Villiers Counselling Service

At Villiers High School, we are committed to supporting the emotional well-being of our students through dedicated in-house mentoring and specialist sessions provided in partnership with East to West.

Through this collaboration, we offer access to a Relational Counsellor who fosters strong, trusting relationships with students, focusing on pastoral care and the overall well-being of both the child and their family. The counsellor provides therapeutic interventions, systemic family therapies, and a range of supportive advice, taking a holistic approach that goes beyond behavioural or academic concerns. This approach thoughtfully considers family dynamics, peer relationships, and social environments to promote long-term positive outcomes.

Additionally, our Relational Support Worker empowers students to take greater ownership of their responses to challenging situations. Using a variety of approaches including mentoring, signposting, and coaching, they encourage students to think critically, learn, and reflect as they move forward.

Counselling can also help:

  • Children who are experiencing bullying or bereavement
  • Support young people experiencing relationship difficulties with family or friends
  • Help young people manage anger and other strong emotions
  • Assess whether SEN support is also needed
